New Year's Celebration ((Open to everyone))

((A little late, I know, but I've been busy.))

Another year had come and gone at the Sohma household, another year where nothing had changed and everything remained the same. Well, except for the transition to the year of the Rooster to the year of the Dog, and of course that this year's celebration was open to that wretched girl who lived with the Rat, Cat, and Dog, along with the Nox family. It was Kureno's idea and after a lot of needling and encouraging from the adults, she had reluctantly agreed.

Though the leader of the Sohma family would never admit it, she was secretly looking forward to having those cursed by the Zodiac under her roof and control again, even if it was merely for a night. She'd even forced the Dog of the bunch into dancing for tonight's celebration, despite his protests and whinings of disagreement. It amused her to no end how Shigure would argue and stretch the limit to defy her, though in the end he would cave. Not one of them could disobey her, for she was their God and her word was law.

Akito sighed to herself as she stared out the window, greeting the guests in a calm, yet distant manner. She had no desire to really talk with any of them but that was apart of being head of the family, she had to talk to those she'd rather have nothing to do with. As she greeted the guests, however, she kept an open eye out for the Dog. After all, what was the fun in bringing in the New Year if she couldn't at least taunt him?

Hatori was of course present. It was his duty to follow Akito's word, like any of the other Sohma's. However he was feeling akward as every year, as he wasn't exactly the center of sociality. From where he was standing he could see Kana. Of course she'd be here. She was a Sohma too, even though she didn't have the curse. She didn't even remember any more. What had happened back then. Ah well, the doctor couldn't blame her as he himself had been the one to erase her memories of their time together. Just as Akito had told him to. He hadn't looked at those pictures Ayame offered him back at the mansion that time. He didn't want to realize that his chance with Kana was gone forever. Ah well, he was cursed, and there was nothing he could do about it. He had said he was over her. . . But that was mostly to make Ayame shut his mouth about it.

The doctor noticed that a few of the females of the guests were staring. Oh yeah, stare at the the lonely doctor and make him feel uncomfortable, why don't ya? Although it didn't show on his face. He looked as calm and collected as always and looked in another direction.

"Your so handsome that you're even popular among our friends!"

Kana's words. . . He guessed she was right. Sort of.

Hatori's eyes fell onto Akito who didn't look quite happy with having to welcome the guests. In all honesty he had wanted to confine Akito to her room again. As she got sick so easily. That was her speciallity. But it was new years, so he had just warned her to take it easy and try to not get stressed or upset by anything.

Trinity shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot. Parties made her extremely nervous for whatever reason...she'd never associated well with people. Not to mention the head of the Sohma House, Akito Sohma, scared her. Just a little. And yet, she also pitied her, she supposed...no one wanted to live the kind of life she did.

I think I'm just afraid of offending her in some way...I don't wanna trip over my own words and what-not.

The Fox blinked. She didn't even know any of these people! She suddenly wished she'd at least brought Roxas along...even if it would hae looked odd if she were talking to a fox. Suddenly she spotted a familiar face among the crowd and made a beeline toward him.

"Hatori-san! It's nice to see you again." Trinity said with a smile. "There's...there's so many people around, ne? Lots and...LOTS of people. That I don't know. At all. Uh...so, how've you been?"

She knew she was coming off as odd...and maybe a bit annoying. She rather hoped she wasn't being too much of the latter. She liked Hatori. She didn't want to push him away with her...annoying-ness.

Hatori blinked and watched as a woman he recognized as one of Shigure's friends moved toward him through the crowd of people. Hopefully Akito wouldn't get mad for seeing him speak with a woman. He'd rather not have a 'Kana incident' number two. Then again, what could just talking to a woman do? It surely wasn't harming anyone. And the incident with Kana had happened because he had wanted to marry her. He smiled slightly, looking down at Trinity.

"Trinity-san. . . It's nice to see you too. And there is always a lot of people here. . . It is New Years after all, and Shigure is supposed to dance. No one would want to miss that. . . Oh, and I've been fine. How about you?" He asked, smiling at her with his usual calm smile. It was good to have someone he actually liked to talk to. Sure, he didn't know her very well, but he had gotten the impression that she was a very good person.

Trinity couldn't supress a giggle at the mention of Shigure dancing. Tryas she might, she just couldn't picture the writer being much of a dancer. Still, it would be interesting to watch and she would do her best to be supportive. She grinned at the other doctor.

"I'm glad you're well. Usually when I catch a glimps of you, you appear to be rather unhappy looking." Trinity said. "Me? Oh, I'm fine. One of my kids is doing so much better, so I'm in a right good mood."

Her kids. That's what she called her patients. To her, the word patients was too informal, so she opted to call them her kids...she cared for them as though they were. Each one of them was important and she tried to help parents make decisions by waying both what was smart and what she would do if it was her child in the situation. Roxas enjoyed coming in once in a while to see them as well.

"New Years. I've lways just thought of it as another day of the year. A new year, but another day none-the-less." Trinity said with a chuckle.

"Oh really?" said a voice from behind Trinity. It was Kaine head of her family. She had managed to slip past Akito's greetings. She wasn't one to talk much to those she didn't know. Truth was the only reason she came was because her Nox's were invited on her new year. But all the same she accepted the invites for all of them. "You never said that while i was around." she placed a hand on Trinity's shoulder and stood to the side of the fox. Her blue eyes then glided up to Hatori Sohma. And who are you? she thought narrowing her eyes.

Christa felt very strange...very very strange! Number one, she didn't wear dresses to begin with, and number two, she didn't know any of the Sohmas (well she knew one..but not very well). But now she amazed herself by walking slowly into the Sohma home in a black, v-necked top and a flattering white skirt that rose just above her knees. Her long black locks were pulled into a partial ponytail, and her honey eyes glancing round curiously. She had heard rumors about this Akito, and none of them were all that great...so she decided to keep her distance.

In the far corner of the room, she spotted her distant cousin Trinity Nox...the girl probably didn't even know Christa existed. Her eyes roamed over slightly until they rested on Hatori, the docter she had met a few days before. She smiled slightly and walked over, nodding politely to everyone she passed until she stood by Hatori. "Hi, remember me?"
